The Deep Blue Ocean.

Oh! I love the deep blue ocean,
With its bright and glistening spray,
Where the rolling tide's glad motion
Speeds the dancing foam away;
And the bold wind whistles gaily,
As it plays among the shrouds,
And the sea, one glorious mirror,
Reflects the passing clouds.
Oh! I never feel so happy,
So joyous or so free,
As I do upon the ocean,
So the deep blue waves for me!

And when the tempest gathers
Its mighty force around,
And dark clouds, charged with thunder,
Burst forth with deafening sound—
E'en then my buoyant spirits
Mount high amid its roar,
Nor would I change its dangers
For the pleasures of the shore.
Oh! I never feel so happy.
So joyous or so free.
As I do upon the ocean,
So the deep blue waves for me!
