Paul & Co. ' The paper was ribbed, with the edges entirely untrimmed.

The published price was seven shillings and sixpence.

Second Edition: 1881.

This edition was issued on cheaper paper, but was in other respects, with the exception that the words 'Second Edition' appear upon the title-page and cover, identical with the first. The binding was in limp boards. The published price was two shillings and sixpence.

In 1884 the stereotype plates came into the possession of Messrs. Chatto and Windus, who soon afterwards printed a new edition from those plates at the current price. Many impressions were printed from the same plates between 1884 and 1899, when an edition was issued—also from the old plates—at the price of six shillings. The edition at two shillings and sixpence is no longer on sale. At the end of 1902 a Presentation Edition was issued, with illustrations, of which the following is a description.
