Fig. (73) If it's a middy you are making, give it a regulation sailor collar the bottom, just fold a piece of paper the depth you want the turn-back, thumb tack the cuff pattern over it and mark across the ends. (See Fig. 75). When the cuff pattern is removed, cut off the turn-back at the lines.

If you are using a curved cuff pattern, the turn-back ought to be curved, too. Lay the cuff you are making, give it a pattern on another piece of paper and mark around it. Fig. (74) Diagram for deep cuff pattern

On this diagram, mark where you want the turn back to come, as the dotted line in Fig. 76. Allow seams above the dotted line, at the sides and bottom of the pattern and cut out the pattern for the turn-back. This will give you a Cuff as shown in Fig. 77.
