3. d is assimilated (?) to g, b, m, n, in tadg, badhb, snaidm, adnadh, etc. Hence it should not be dotted in such situations. If one may depend on the present pronunciation of coigthigheas ᴋîkĪꜱ, kaikīs (?) Finck, coig- must be separated from O. I. cóic because î proceeds from a short vowel. Neither has it to do with Lat. quinque because of ᴋ.
