B., 16 pp., each No. 4 as., continued till 1823, designed for Sircars and iteranies, 500 copies were sent monthly to heathens in Calcutta, and 2,000 copies were distribut- ed in the villages. One edition was published in Anglo-Bengali land another in Bengali ; it embraced biography, diaries, anec- dotes, expressions of dyinjj Christians, ecclesiastical history, Jewish and Christian antiquities, select poems, natural philoso- phy,— controversy was excluded. B. by Ram Mohun Roy, a vindication of the Vedas against the attacks of Missionaries and an attack on'the Trinity. In 1831, Shastra Prakash, on the Yugas, solar race, Sangkar Acharjea and extracts from the Puranas —Gyanaday, by R. C. Mittre, a miscellany of Histori- cal, Biographical, Natural History, and Scientific subjects, 20 Nos. printed. In 1832, Vigyan Sebadi, by Gangacharan Sen, a monthly miscellany for the young, conducted by Hindu College students. The Jyansindhu Taravga, by Rasik Mallik, on Ethics and Literature. In 1833, the FOUR- ANNA MA- GAZINE, A. B., Ethical Essays and Historical Anecdotes, continued for 12 months. In 1834, Vidya Sar Savgraha, A. B. Literature, Science, Biography, History. In 1842, Videa Darshan, by Akhay Kumar Dut, on Ethics, Literature, — Video Darshan, by rrasanna Kumar Ghosc, treated of Ethics, History, Science, lasted 6 months— Shashadhar, by Kalidas Maitreya. In 1843, the EVANGELIST, A. B., Mangal Upakhyearu Edited by J. Robinson, started for Native Chris- tians, at the suggestion of the Baptist Association, continued
