As a matter of fact, however, the Gattamelata monument was erected between 1456 and 1459; whereas we dare not assign the Turin suit to a date earlier than 1465, another proof of the difficulties which attend any attempt to fix an absolute date to an armament, unless, of course, such an attempt can be based on some extant historical record.
