23rd December 1856, No.551."Read the following letter from the Acting Agent in Ganjam. Reports proceedings with the Sowrahs, the success of the joint attack on the Sowrahs, the flight of the Dundoosenah, and states that a continuance of the field force for any length of time will probably not be necessary.

"Para. 3.—Copy of para. 9 of Mr. Knox's letter will be furnished to the Agent in Vizagapatam, and he will be instructed to communicate to the Rajah of Vizianagaram and Zemindar of Bobbili the acknowledg-
