The Reflexive Form.

This form belongs to verbs the subject and object of which are identical. The pronoun indicating the object is placed before the verb in the dative or accusative case, as the verb may require, and in its abbreviated form:—

With Accusative. With Dative.
se mira, ‘to be astonished.’ a ĭ propune, ‘to propose to oneself.’

Indicative Present.

eŭ mĕ mir, ‘I am astonished.’ eŭ ĭ propun, ‘I propose to myself.’
tu te mi, tu ĭ propuĭ,
el se mi, el îṣĭ propune,
noĭ ne mi, noĭ ne propunem,
voĭ vĕ miraṭĭ, voĭ vĕ propuneṭĭ,
eĭ se mi, eĭ îṣĭ propun.

Imperfect.

eŭ mĕ miram,
‘I was astonished.’
eŭ îmĭ propuném,
‘I proposed to myself.’

Simple Perfect.

eŭ mĕ miraĭ,
‘I was astonished.’
eŭ îmĭ propusseĭ.
‘I proposed to myself.’

Simple Perfect.

eŭ mĕ mirassem,
‘I had been astonished.’
eŭ îmĭ propussessem.
‘I had proposed to myself.’
