believe that the rock formations of Australia are equally uniform and extensive.
In the colouring of the two maps that accompany this volume, I must warn the reader not to expect any accuracy of outline. They are not geological maps in the strict sense of the word, the geological colours being only dabbed on roughly about the place where the rock indicated by it was observed, as nearly as I could guess its size and locality. The colours are only intended to come in aid of the description, and to guide the eye and help the memory of the reader.
