Brunel, Isambard Kingdom, Esq., F.R.S., created D.C.L. 24 June, 1857, an eminent engineer, built docks at Sunderland and Bristol, became engineer of the Great Western Railway, designed the Great Eastern steamship (son of Sir Mark Isambard Brunel, engineer of the Thames Tunnel), died 14 Sep., 1859, aged 53.
