I insert "from afar" for this cause, that there can be no question of recognising a St. George of vision by his facial resemblance to the image of the coins, since the features of the figure on the sovereign are too small to be recognisable. Well, it seems to me that if I told that supposed tale of the Apparition of Jones in Hyde Park, and gave the reasons I have indicated as the grounds of my recognition of the visionary Jones: I should not be believed.
