Sixteen full-page illustrations in colour mounted on white paper and twenty-four drawings in black and white. This edition is limited to 575 numbered and signed copies.

There is a trade edition bound in light blue cloth with pictorial stamping in gold on the cover and spine and gold lettering; gilt top. 170 numbered pages, 7⅜×9⅞. White end-papers. (The later issues have pictorial end-papers.) This edition has the same number of illustrations as the limited edition, but the coloured illustrations are mounted on gray paper. This book was reprinted by Heinemann, London.

American Edition: Bound in dark blue cloth, with the same number of illustrations as the English trade edition and the same size. Published by Dodd, Mead & Co., New York.

French Edition: LE LIVRE DES BALLADES, BY PAUL FORTE. PUBLISHED BY H. PIAZZA L’EDITION D’ART, PARIS. This book is bound in pictorial tan wrappers and limited to 1300 copies, not signed. The size of the page is 8⅞×11¼. These are the same “Ballads” translated by Paul Forte and the same number of illustrations as are in the English edition.
