Bound in red cloth with gold pictorial stamping on the cover and gold lettering on the spine. 488 numbered pages, 5½×8½. There is a drawing on the title page and a frontispiece in black and white, both by Arthur Rackham. These are the only illustrations in the book. The book is dated on the reverse title page and is marked “First Edition.”

American Edition: Bound in red cloth with gold lettering on the cover and spine. This edition has the same drawing on the title page and the same frontispiece as the English edition. It was published by E. P. Dutton & Co., New York.
