Arjuna said:

What are the marks of him who hath crossed over the three qualities[1], O Lord? How acteth he, and how doth he go beyond these three qualities[1]? (21)

श्रीभगवानुवाच ।

प्रकाशं च प्रवृत्तिं च मोहमेव च पाण्डव ।

न द्वेष्टि संप्रवृत्तानि न निवृत्तानि काङ्क्षति ॥ २२ ॥

The Blessed Lord said:

He, O Pândava, who hateth not radiance, nor outgoing energy, nor even delusion, when present, nor longeth after them, absent; (22)

उदासीनवदासीनो गुणैर्यो न विचाल्यते । गुणा वर्तन्त इत्येव योऽवतिष्ठति नेङ्गते ॥ २३ ॥

He who, seated as a neutral, is unshaken by the qualities[1]; who, saying, "The qualities[1] revolve," standeth apart immovable. (23)
