forces, to enter the premises at any time or time within one month from the date of the warrant, if necessary by force, and to search the premises an every person found therein, and to seize any article found in the premises or on any such person, being an article in respect of which the officer has reason able ground for believing that such a contravention as aforesaid has occurred or an article which the officer has reasonable ground for believing to be evidence of such a contravention.

(2) If, with respect to any premises, any officer of police of a rank not lower than that of Superintendent, or any person authorised by the Secretary of State to act under this paragraph, has reasonable ground for suspecting that there has occurred a contravention of this Order with respect to an alien having any article in his possession or under his control, and that the article is to be found at those premises, and is satisfied—

(a) that it is essential in the interests of the State that the premises should be searched for the purpose of seizing the article; and

(b) that the article is not likely to be found at the premises unless they are searched forthwith;

the said officer or person may, by a written order under his hand, confer the like powers of search an seizure in relation to the premises as might be conferred under the preceding paragraph by the warrant of a justice.

(3) No woman shall, in pursuance of a warrant granted or an order made under this Article, be searched except by a woman.

(4) Any article seized under this Article may be retained for a period of one month, or if within that period there are commenced any proceedings being proceedings in which the article seized is or can properly be adduced in evidence, until the conclusion of those proceedings.”

4. Paragraphs (3) to (7) inclusive of Article 9a of the principal Order are hereby revoked.
