We may disagree politically, they call politics a contact sport after all. But at heart, we're all Americans. We stand before God and our fellow man in a great social contract where we promise to do the best to get it right. May God have mercy on us and us peace for how we treat each other at times in the world of politics.

And one thing I'd like to add is while America is divided on many issues, at the end of the day our First Amendment rights to assemble to protest, whether on the right or the left, should be protected and should be protected by this body. To prevent future unlawful activity which is the goal of this committee, whether from those who stormed the Capitol, or those abortion rights activists who stormed the Supreme Court, or blocked Justice Kavanaugh's confirmation, or BLM rioters, that is a matter of law enforcement, not the suppression of free speech and assembly.
