A Yeah. They said this could happen, and we'll let you know. You know, I'm using loose terms here, you know, generalizing their statements. And it did not happen.

I don't think I—you know, we were doing a ton of stuff at DOD. I was not concerned with why appointments did or did not happen. I said, "I serve at the pleasure of, you know, the President. Let me know. Until then, I'm going back to work."

Q What about the Deputy Director for the FBI? Did you have a conversation with Johnny McEntee or Mark Meadows or the President about that position?

A I think we—yeah. We had a conversation—again, I'm not sure of the exact date—about, similarly, about the Deputy Director role at the FBI. But, again, I don't know the exact timeframe on that one.

Q You had the conversation with the same three people? Was it the same conversation? Was it just a conversation of, "Hey, Kash, we're thinking about moving you here, we're thinking about moving you there"?

A It could've been two separate conversations, or it could've been both at once. Are you interested? As how government operates, especially before or around an election, people are trying to plan ahead. There was a lot of work that the PPO office was doing to, if President Trump had won, place their selectees across government, and so—that was their job—they asked if I was interested in doing either of those jobs.
