At Greenwich the magnificent Royal Hospital for decayed Seamen. Its Hall is beautifully painted by Sir J. Thornhill, and its Chapel by Benj. West, Esq. Here is a fine Park, in which is the Royal Observatory, from whence is a beautiful Prospect.

Ramsgate is remarkable for a fine Pier, which extends 800 Feet into the Sea before it forms an Angle, and is 26 Feet broad at the Top: its South Front is a Polygon; its Angles five on a Side, each 450 Feet, with Octagons of 60 Feet at the Ends, and the Entrance 200 Feet. The Pier forms the grand Promenade. Ramsgate is much frequented as a Bathing-place.
