TAB. CCLXXIX.

SPHÆROCARPUS fragilis.

Having adopted Bulliard's Sphærocarpus sessilis in. tab. 258, I beg leave to retain the genus for the present. This differs in being shaped like a pear, or somewhat stalked, and is alfo more fragile. It resembles Sphærocarpus ficoides of Bull. tab. 417. fig. 3. but that figure is all black, both capfule and feeds, if I may fo call them.

TAB. CCLXXX.

RETICULARIA alba. Bull. 236

Certainly allied when young to tab. 272, Sec. but differing materially in the latter state, having many very irregularly formed capsules, more or less Stalked. This is Spumaria Mucilago of Persoon's" Tentamen Dispositionis methodicæ Fungorum," tab. 1. Fig. a. b. c. The different individuals are of various sizes, and grow on different plants, either fresh or decaying.
