reproduced on a continuous roll or sheet, as for example, a bolt of cloth or a "web" of lace. Generally, the copies submitted for deposit should represent the form in which publication first occurred. In the case of goods sold by the yard or fractions thereof, the copies need not exceed one yard in length. How­ ever, if the notice of copyright appears at regular intervals along the selvage, margin, or edge of the material, it is always desirable that each copy be of sufficient length to show two such notices in order to establish the frequency and regularity of their position on the work.
