CONSONANTS WITH VOWELS ATTACHED.
ga gia gu giu go gio
ᄀᆞ
goo giw gu gi ga
  1. N.B.ーConsonants all pronounced as in Chinese, the romanization being on the system of my Mandarin Primer; the vowels are also on the same principle,ーof a certain definite unchangeable value, the u always pro-nounced as in fun, oo and w standing for the other value of u. Corean o final more open than o in English long, its nearest approximation, iw always like ew of new, few. The double vowels o and a, form wa, oo and u, wu (wo rm), a and i, e of let, u and i, a of lame, which I write ê for precision.
