painted in Asia Minor); Grand Vizier, Reschid
Pasha, Sir Stratford Canning (painted
in Constantinople); An Eastern Story Teller,
Matthew Baird, Philadelphia.

30, 1883. Genre and portrait painter, pupil
of Ary Scheffer. His genre pieces are
carefully drawn and bright in colour, but of
