faithfully laboring in the Master’s vineyard unto his reward, he would have tried to split the church and become a little Bishop and denomination unto himself. Oh, for more of Allen’s spirit in our church today! Oh, for the same unselfish desire for the good of the church, even when we come to choose its servants from that of the sexton to the Bishop! Allen’s spirit has reared many mighty men and women in and out of the church, but even at that some were drawn closer and higher up into the realm of his own immediate illumination.
