G.C.B. G.C.H., 1st Baron Bloomfield. He was b. April 13, 1768 ; was a Lieut.- 1, en. in the Army, Col. Commandant of the Royal Artillery, and Governor of Fort Charles, Port Royal, Jamaica. In 1808, he was appointed General Attendant to George, Prince of ales, to whom, during the Kegency, he was Clerl: Marshal and Chief Equerry, as well as Private Secretary and Keeper of the Privy Purse; was knighted in 1815, and appointed Auditor and Secretary to the Duchy of Cornwall ; was sent, in 1824, as Envoy to Sweden, and was raised to the peerage of Ire- land in I8'^5i ni. Sept. 7, 1797, Harriet, daughter of John Douglas, Esq. of Grantham; he d. Aug. if, 1846, having had issue a son and four daughters. Her ladyship d. 1868.
