Jan. 20, 1773, and was created Baron Cowley, in 1828, for his eminent diplomatic services: m. 1st, Sept. 20, 1803, Lady Charlotte Cadogan, daughter of the 1st Earl Cadogan, (this marriage was dissolved in 1810), and had issue tliree sons and a daughter ; 2ndly, Feb. 27, 181 6, Lady Georgiana Charlotte Augusta Cecil, daughter of the 1st Marquess of Salisbury; and d. April 26, 1847, having had issue a daughter. Her ladyship d. in I860. COWPER, EARL. (COWPER.)
