Dec. 19, 1794, Margaret, daughter of the 2nd Viscount Southwell, (she d. 1820) ; and d. Feb. 10, i860, having had issue seven sons and two daughters. GORT, VISCOUNT. (VEREKER.) Born July 6th, 1819; succeeded his father in 1865; was educated at Trinity College, Dublin (B.A. 1840, M.A. 1843); was appointed Col. in the Limerick Artillery Militia 1865 ; is a Magistrate for Galway, of which county he was High Sheriff 1843 : married (1847) the Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage, 3rd daughter of the 4th Viscount Gage, and has issue, living, Sens, John Gage Prendergast, 6.1849; educated at Harrow; appointed Sub-Lieut. Limerick Artillery Militia 1875. Maria O'Grady, daughter of the 1st Viscount Guillamore, (she d. 1854), and by her had issue six sons and five daughters; 2ndly, June 10, 1861, Elizabeth Mary, widow of George Tudor, Esq. and d. Oct. 20, 1865, without issue from his last marriage.
