HOTHAM, Baron, His lordship's predecessor was his brother Charles* 4th Baron. He was b. May 27, 1836, and succeeded his uncle 1870 ; educated at Sandhurst. Entered the 18th Foot 1854, and became Capt. 186l ; served in ihe Crimea and was wounded before Sebastopol 1855; exchanged to the 59th Foot 1862, and retired 1863; had the Crimean medal and clasp, the Turkish war medal, and the order of the Medjidie. Born June 19th, 1809; educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, (M.A. 1830), and was created Hon. D.C.L. of Oxford, 1854; is a Dep.
