The singular reputation of this syrup, as much in the prevention as in the cure of tha above c omplaints, experieuce has fully confirmed ; and considering the variety of cases, iu which it has b 'en tried, perhaps no other medicine has ever met with such general success and approbation. It has deservedly obtained distinguished patronage, and many of the nobility, clergy, &c., are using it under the recommendatisn of some of the most eminent of the faculty, wh > are daily admitting and testifying to its efficacy. Its pro- perties are concentrated in an agreeable form, and its action as a sudorific and expectorant is materially enhanced by the addition of balsamic demulcents, which render this syrup a universal acquisition in tho disorders mentioned, and particularly adapted for ladies and children, with whom paregoric and other opiates are so frequently objectionable.
