KINNAIRD, BARON. (KINNAIRD.) GEORGE WILLIAM Fox KINNAIRD, K.T. P.C., 9th Baron, Lord Lieut, of Perthshire. Born April 14th, 1807 ; succeeded his father in 1826 ; educated at Eton; was Master of the Buck- hounds, 1839 41, and sometime Grand Master of the Freemasons of Scotland : married (1837) the Hon. Frances Ann Georgiana Ponsonby, daughter of the 1st Baron de Mauley. Brother living, Arthur Fitz-Gerald, M.P., heir presumptive, 6.1814; educated at Eton ; is head partner in the banking firm of Ransom, Bouverie & Co.; was Attache to the British Embassy at St. Petersburg:, and Private Secretary to the Earl of Durham, when Minister at that Court, 18357 ; is a Dep. Lieut, and a Magistrate for Perthshire ; sat as M.P. for Perth 183739 (L.) and has represented that constituency since 1852 : m. 1843, Mary Jane, daughter of W. H. Hoare, Esq. of Mitcham Grove, Surrey, and niece of the 1st Earl of Gainsborough, and has, with other issue, Arthur Fitzgerald, b. 1847. Residences, Plaistow Lodge, Bromley, Kent ; Kinloch, Perthshire; and 2, Pall Mall East, S.W. Club, Athenaeum. Sister living, Olivia Cecilia Laura, b. 1808. Creations, Baron Kinnaird of Inchture, in the peerage of Scotland, 1 682, Baron Rossie of Rossie, Perth, 1831, and Baron Kinnaird of Rossie, with remainder in default of heirs male, to his brother and the heirs male of his body, I860 ; both in the peerage of the United Kingdom. Srms, Quarterly : 1st and 4th, or, a fesse wavy, between three mullets, gules, Kirkaldy. 2nd, gules, a saltire between four crescents, or, Kinnaird; 3rd, sable, a castle, proper. Crest, A crescent, rising out of a cloud, with a star between its horns, and the whole encircled by two branches of palm, all proper. 5>upportfrg, Two wild men, wreathed about the loins with oak, each holding in his exterior hand a chaplet of laurel, their interior ancles surrounded by a fetter, and the chain held in the interior hand. Seat, Rossie Priory, Inchture, Perthshire. KINNAIRD, Baron, His lordship's predecessor was his father, Charles, 8th Baron Kinnaird. He was b. April 8, 1780, and succeeded his father, Oct. 11, 1803 ; was for some time M.P. for Leominster, and was a Representative Peer of Scotland : m. May 8, 1806, Lady Olivia Letitia Catherine Fitzgerald, daughter of the 2nd Duke of Leinster.K.P. and d. Dec. 11, 1826, having had issue three sons and two daughters. Her ladyship d. in 1858.
