June 2!, 1799; he was in several Parliaments a repre- sentative of Wiltshire, and was created, in 1838, Baron Methuen : m. July 31, 1810, Jane Dorothy, daughter of Sir Henry Mildmay, 3rd Baronet, of Moulsham-hall (she d. 1846), and d. Sept. 14, 1849, having had issue, three sons and a daughter. MEXBOROUGH, EARL OF.
