Born June 14th, 1838; succeeded his grandmother in 1864; entered the Rifle Brigade, 1854 ; became Lieut. 1855, Capt. 18o9, and retired 1866 ; served in the Crimean war, and at the siege of Sebastopol ; has the Crimean medal and clasp, and the Turkish War medal ; is a Dep. Lieut, of Perthshire, and a Magistrate for that, county and for Herefordshire : married (1869), Lady Caroline Annesley Gore, daughter of the 4th Earl of Arran, K.P., and has issue, living, Sows, Walter Patrick, Master of Ruthven, ft. 1870.
