Nov. 13, 1802. and succeeded his father, Oct. 22, 1850; was M.P. for Hindon, 1831, for North Cheshire, 1832 41, and 1847 8; was summoned to the House of Lords as Baron Eddisbury in the latter year; was Under Secretary for the Home Department, 1834; Secretary of the Treasury, 183541; Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs, 184652; Vice-President of the Board of Trade, 1852; President, 18558; Postmaster-General, 185966: m. Oct. 7, 1826, the Hon. Henrietta Maria Dillon, eldest daughter of the 13th Viscount Dillon ; and d. June 16, 1869, having had issue four sons and eight daughters.
