Sir Jonathan Trelawny, a man of great learning, was consecrated Bishop of Bristol 1685, and was one of the seven Bishops committed to the Tower by James II., which act caused a great rising among the people of Cornwall. After the Revolution, he was successively Bishop of Exeter and Winchester. Capt. Sir William, R.N., 6th baronet, was Governor of Jamaica.
