The Barony fell into abeyance on the death of William, 7th Baron, and the abeyance was terminated in favour of Miles, 8th Baron, 1840, but again fell into abeyance on the birth of a second dau. to the 10th Baron shortly after his death in 1895 ; but the abeyance was terminated in favour of the present Baroness in 1896.
