Clayton seconded the motiou of Wil- liam Lord Russell, in the Commons then sitting at Oxford, for which the latter was executed, and the former lost estates worth £10,000 a year, which James II confiscated, when he retired to Ireland, but his property there was also confis- cated in 1694. Sir R. Clayton was amongst those who brought over William III, and headed a large procession from Henley-on-Thames to London on the occasion of his arrival.
