A Baronetcy was conferred on Peter Leicester, the celebrated antiquarian and historian of Cheshire, in 1C60, but became extinct on the death of his grandson, leaving an only dau. She, however, became the grandmother of Sir Peter Byrne, 4th Bt., of Trinogue, who assiuned the name of Leicester ; his son, the 6th Bt., was created Baron de Tabley in 1826. Residence — c/o Sir C.
