The rules of precedence, observed at "jHis Majesty's Castle of Dublin " differ slightly from those which prevail in England. There are several official jDersons, moreover, with an estab- lished precedence in Ireland, who do not corre- spond exactly to any English functionary and who liave in England no recognized position. But in the majority of instances, the general rules already laid down, apply equally to both countries. The differences, however, will be seen from the following reprint of the scale pub- I lished on January 2nd, 1897 (with subsequent alterations), by command of the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland : — 1.
