The baronetcy of 1694 (Scot.) was inherited by the Rt. Hon. Sir John Anstruther (great - great - grandfather of the pres. Bt.), a distinguished lawyer, who had been previously made a Bt. of Great Britain,' when chief justice of the Supreme Court in Bengal ; the two titles are. therefore, in the possession of the pres. The 6th Earl (who afterwards was created a Marq.), having no male issue, ob- tained a new patent, creating him Vise. Dunluee and Earl of Antrim, with remainder to his daugh- ters, in order of primogeniture, and the heirs male of their bodies respectively, and the present peer is the grandson of his 2nd dau., who m.
