William Smith, installed 24th June 1505.

He died in 151 2, and was succeeded by Chribtopheb M lbsingberd, collated 31st March 15 12,
and quitted it January next following. Brian Hicdi. v succeeded, and on quitting it for Ailes-
bury, John Talbot was collated 25th Jane 1523; he occurs
possessed of it in 1536. John Broke, alias Cobham, installed 14th June 1550,
on tin- death of the last prebendary, not named. He
held it in 1562. John IIoni:. LLP., installed :^nd .Juno 15^4. Edward Broke, alias Cobb \m. came in 1566 or 1567. Robert Hovedon held it in 1570 or 1571. lie was
buried in All Souls college chapel, Oxon, where he was
warden. Robert Newell, S.T.B., collated 1 6th April, and in- stalled on the 26th of the same month, 1614, and died
in 1643, a ' so archdeacon of Buckingham. Robert Mapletoft, S.T.P., was presented by the
Crown 1st Aug. 1660, vice Dr. Newell deceased. Ho
was in-tailed to this and the subdeanery on the same
day 23rd Aug. 16^0, but he resigned the prebend and
was succeeded by Wii.i.i am Sampson, A.M.. collated 26th July 1672, vice
Dr. Mapletoft resigned. He died 1703, and was buried
at Cloy worth, co. Nottingham. Gervase Needham, S.T.P., collated 26th April, and
installed 1st May 1703, vice Sampson deceased. He
died soon after. Matthew Braii.skord, S.T.P., collated 1 ith Dec, and
installed on the 18th of the same month 1703. He
became dean of Wells, and died in 1733. Henry Johnson, LL.D., collated 18th Jan. 17334. Lewis Monoux, A.M., collated 21st Oct. 1755. Michael Tyson, A.M., collated 22nd May, and installed
29th June 177 1. vice Lewis Monoux deceased.
