13 Ric. 11. appointed by bull of provision dated 27th Aug. 1389 ' '; he made his profession of obedience to the archbishop [4th Dec. following 16 , and received the spiritualities and temporalities from the archbishop on the same day 17 ; and having done fealty to the King, he ob- tained the restitution of his temporalities from him also 12th Feb. 1389-90'". He died in Feb. 1 399- 14C0 1 , and was buried in the churchyard of the Grey Friars, London. The archbishop, by virtue of his prerogative, issued his license for the election of a bishop in the room of William de Bottlesham 26th Feb. 1399-1400, and lie granted the custody of the spiritualities to Robert Hallum, on the 15th of the following March. 1400 John de Bottlesham, chaplain 1<> tin archbishop of
