1 lʉ́ tîeh cai hɵ́ tái. 1 You must know good and evil.
2 m̄ cai hɵ́ phái. 2 Not discern good and evil.
3 a tĭeⁿ bŏi áu mân, a ko īa bɵ̂ tái ì, ang cía nɵ̆ nâng sĭm siang ài. 3 Uncle is not perverse, and aunt is not vicious, so the husband and wife are fond of each other.
4 ke húe cíaⁿ lí hɵ́, khang khùe cɵ̀ chut lâi huang hɵ́. 4 Have the tools in good order and the work done with them will then be good.
5 hʉ́ kâi tī hng tōa ki hng, bí kùi căi. 5 There is a great famine in that region and rice is very dear.
6 cí kĭaⁿ mûeh kêk hɵ́ cîah. 6 This is exceedingly delicious.
7 i kâi nâng kêk hɵ́, pit bɵ̂ cɵ̀ áu mân kâi sʉ̄. 7 He is extremely good, and certainly does no malicious thing.
8 i khʉ̀ hwn pôiⁿ kàu taⁿ ŭ saⁿ câp nî kú. 8 He went to foreign parts thirty years ago.
9 cí kâi nâng kêk khîang càng. 9 This man is exceedingly strong.
10 cí kĭaⁿ sʉ̄ kêk áu mân. 10 This is a most atrocious business.
11 kîa kàu cí kɵ̀ tó lăi ki gɵ̄. 11 In walking here I became famished.
12 cʉ̆ sí. gɵ̄ sí. húe thâu. 12 Suicide. Starve to death. A cook.
13 hàm húe thâu lâi cíaⁿ lí cîah. 13 Call the cook to come and get dinner.
14 lʉ́ cí kĭaⁿ sʉ̄ ái lí căi; lʉ́ mài khah mân. 14 Your are very perverse about this; do not be too vehement.
15 i kâi nâng khîang khîang càng càng cɵ̀ ŏi sí? 15 When he is so robust, how is it that he will die?
16 hwn nâng. pit pit àiⁿ. 16 Foreigners. Surely will.
17 hwn pôiⁿ lâi kâi. 17 An importation.
