EVENING MEETING.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16th, 1914.

Sir Laurence Goimme (Vice-President) in the Chair.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

The death of Sir G. F. Hardy was announced.

The resignations of Mrs, Burgess, Mr. W. Ws Skeat, Mr. Rudyard KipHng; Mr. E. H. Binney, Mr. J. E. Simpkins Mr. M. Letts, Mr. J. Humphreys, Dr. Farnell, and Major Tremearne were also announced.

His Honour J. S. Udal read a paper on the "Supersti- tions of the Shawia (Berbers)," by Mr. M. W. Hilton Simpson, who was prevented by his military duties from being present at the meeting, and in the discussion which followed the Chairman, Dr. Hildburgh, Miss Burne, and Mr. Carline took part.

The meeting terminated with hearty votes of thanks to Mr. Hilton Simpson for his paper and to His Honour J. S. Udal for readinsr it.
