Has the material afforded by the canons themselves been thoroughly worked up? If so, this notice is probably superfluous, but the evidence supplied by these νομοκύνονες of what was regarded then as worthy of inclusion and translation into the vulgar tongue will always be of some value for the history of the survival of certain notions. If the material from the canons has not been extracted, someone ought to do it.
