Revenue.-- The revenue of the district is exhibited in the following table. It will be observed that the imperial expenditure is only 12 per cent. of the income, even excluding from the latter the receipts from salt and opium which enter the imperial exchequer. The land revenue constitutes 90 per cent of the income; it has been increased 42 per cent. at the recent settlement.
