For in addition to other troubles I am running short of funds! I wrote you on the 2nd of October asking you to kindly advane $500-five hundred dollars but as I have not heard from you I presume you must have been absent from Tring.

We get mail but once a month and that is due the 29th or 30th of each month. In addition to the 576 specimens shipt[sic] today we have on hand something over 400 others drying and almost ready for packing and shipment.

In looking over about Berlepsch's list I see the water thrush Seiurus noveboracensis has not been recorded from Cayenne. And while I have not procured specimens I have to record the seeing of a single bird of that species on Oct 14th It being a common N.A. bird and being very close I am absolutely sure of the identification. The cartrdiges I had in my gun proved worthless or I might have more substantial record.

I am in te best of health. Very Truly Geo. K. Cherrie
