28. Ic fōr fram Fæder, and cōm on middaneard; eft, ic forlǣte middaneard, and fare tō Fæder.[1]

29. His leorningcnihtas cwǣdon tō him, Nū ðū sprycst openlīce, and ne segst nān bigspell.

30. Nū wē witon þæt þū wāst ealle ðing, and þē nis nan þearf þæt ǣnig þē āxie; on ðyson wē gelȳfað þæt þū cōme of Gode.[2]

31. Sē Hǣlend him andswarode and cwæð, Nū gē gelȳfað?

32. Nū cōm tīd and cymð þæt gē tōfaron ǣghwylc tō his āgenon, and forlǣton mē ānne; and ic ne eom āna, for þām mīn Fæder is mid mē.[3]

33. Ðās þing ic ēow sǣde, þæt gē habbon sibbe on mē. Gē habbað hefige byrðene on middanearde; ac getrūwiað; ic forswīðde middaneard.[4]
