Ðys [godspel] sceal on frīgedæg on þǣre forman wucan æfter epiphania.

27. Ne wyrceaþ æfter þām mete þe forwyrð, ac æfter þām þe þurhwunað on ēce līf, ðone mannes Sunu ēow sylþ; þone God Fæder getācnode.[3]

28. Hig cwǣdon tō him, Hwæt dō wē þæt wē wyrceon Godes weorc?

29. Þā andswarode sē Hǣlend and cwæð tō him, þæt is Godes weorc, þæt gē gelȳfan on ðone þe hē sende.[4]

30. Đā cwǣdon hig, Hwat dēst þū tō tācne þæt wē gesēon and gelȳfon þæt þū hit wyrce?

31. Ūre fæderas ton heofonlīcne mete on wēstene; swā hit āwriten is, Hē sealde him etan hlāf of heofone.[5]
