Ðys godspel gebyrað ānum dæge ǣr mydfæstene.

1. Sē Hǣlend fōr on Oliuetes dūne.^[3]

2. And cōm eft on dægrēd tō þām temple, and eall þæt folc cōm tō him; and hē sæt, and lǣrde hig.

3. Ða lǣddon þā Pharisei and ðā bōceras tō him ān wīf, sēo wǣs āparod on unrihthǣmede, and setton hig tōmiddes hyra,^[4]

4. and cwǣdon tō him, Lārēow, þis wīf wæs āfunden on unrihtum hǣmede.^[5]

5. Moyes ūs bebead on þǣre ǣ þæt wē sceoldon þus gerāde mid stānum oftorfian; hwæt cwyst þū?

6. Ðis hig cwǣdon his fandiende, þæt hig hine wrēhton. Sē Hǣlend ābēah nyþer, and wrāt mid his fingre on þǣre eorþan.
