through its main street, encumbered with rubbish and stooping under props, was about to seek a night's lodging in some possible convent, when I was accosted by Don Antonio Georgio Morano, a lawyer of the place, whose palazzo had been wholly destroyed, and who invited me to the hospitalities of his temporary home. From that gentleman and from his amiable wife, I received at the lodging which they occupied, in a shattered building in the town, the most gracious and cordially given hospitality, and from the signor, much valuable information.
