Whaplode Church.
The church here was built by the abbot of Croyland in rivalry with Moulton, which was the work of the prior of Spalding. The nave, of no less than seven bays, is narrow and 110 feet long, and exhibits in the low chancel arch and four adjoining arcades quite the most interesting Norman work in 'Holland.'
